RouteSky Terms of Use.
Effective: 26 May 2026 · Last updated: 26 May 2026
These Terms of Use ("RouteSky Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Alderframe Ltd, registered in England and Wales ("Alderframe", "we", "us", "our"), and govern your access to and use of the RouteSky iOS application and related services (together, "RouteSky" or the "App"). These supplement, and must be read together with, the main Alderframe Terms of Use & EULA; where this document differs in relation to RouteSky, this document prevails.
By downloading, installing, accessing or using RouteSky, you accept these RouteSky Terms and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the App. Section 13 contains additional terms required by Apple when you obtain RouteSky from the Apple App Store.
1. Planning information only — important safety notice
RouteSky provides route weather insights, journey planning, and predictive journey intelligence for planning support purposes only. RouteSky is not a navigation, emergency, or safety-critical service. RouteSky does not:
- guarantee safety, prevent accidents or replace driver judgment;
- guarantee the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of weather information;
- replace official road authority guidance, emergency alerts, traffic signs, or local laws.
You agree to use your own judgment, observe road conditions and signage, and follow all applicable laws when driving. Do not interact with the App while operating a vehicle. RouteSky is to be used as a planning tool only.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher). If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these RouteSky Terms on your behalf and supervise your use.
3. Licence to use RouteSky
Subject to your compliance with these RouteSky Terms and the applicable Apple Usage Rules, Alderframe grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to download and install one copy of RouteSky on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, and to run that copy for your personal, non-commercial use.
This is a licence — not a sale. We and our licensors retain all right, title and interest in RouteSky and all related intellectual property. Any rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.
4. Location and weather data accuracy
Route, traffic and weather information shown by RouteSky is derived from third-party sources, including Apple's MapKit and WeatherKit. Such information may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or interrupted, and conditions can change rapidly. RouteSky and Alderframe make no representation or warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, reliability or timeliness of any route, location or weather information.
5. RouteSky Pro — subscription terms
Certain advanced features (collectively, "RouteSky Pro") are offered as auto-renewing subscriptions. These may include advanced route weather insights, enhanced Journey Scores, advanced widgets, unlimited saved trips, road trip planning, and family trip sharing. Pricing, billing period and entitlements are disclosed at the point of purchase.
- Auto-renewal. RouteSky Pro subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (for example, monthly or yearly) unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase and again at each renewal, using your Apple ID payment method.
- Manage or cancel. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your Apple device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Free trials. Any free trial or introductory offer is available once per user / Apple ID household per offer, in line with Apple's rules. If you cancel before the end of the free trial, you will not be charged.
- Refunds. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Your rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 are not affected, but please note that by starting to use a digital subscription you may be agreeing to the loss of your statutory cancellation right.
- Changes to pricing. We may change RouteSky Pro pricing for future billing periods. Where required, you will be notified in advance and given the opportunity to cancel before the change takes effect.
6. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not, and will not permit any third party to:
- copy, modify, adapt, translate, create derivative works of, publicly display or distribute RouteSky except as expressly permitted;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble RouteSky, except to the extent the restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- remove, obscure or alter any proprietary notices, trademarks or marks within the App;
- rent, lease, lend, sell, resell, sublicense or transfer RouteSky or your access to it;
- circumvent any security measure, authentication mechanism, licence control or technical restriction in the App;
- use RouteSky to infringe the rights of any third party, breach any law, or generate unsolicited messages;
- use bots, scrapers or automated means to access RouteSky in ways not authorised by us;
- introduce or transmit any virus, worm, trojan or malicious code;
- use RouteSky in a manner that endangers yourself or others, including by interacting with the App while driving; or
- export, re-export or use RouteSky in violation of UK, EU, U.S. or other applicable export control or sanctions laws.
7. Third-party services
RouteSky uses Apple-provided frameworks including MapKit, WeatherKit, StoreKit, WidgetKit, ActivityKit, and App Groups. Your use of those features is also subject to Apple's terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy or content of third-party data or services.
8. Intellectual property
RouteSky, including its name, marks, code, designs, content and all related intellectual property, is owned by Alderframe or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. No rights are granted to you other than the limited licence in Section 3.
9. Updates and changes
We may release updates and new features for RouteSky at our discretion. Updates may be required for the App to continue to function correctly. We may change, limit or discontinue features at any time; where we discontinue a paid feature you have prepaid for, we will use reasonable efforts to give notice and an appropriate remedy where required by law.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RouteSky is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranty of any kind. Alderframe disclaims all express, implied and statutory warranties (merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, quiet enjoyment). We do not warrant that RouteSky will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, or that route, location or weather information will be accurate. This Section does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these RouteSky Terms limits or excludes liability for (a) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) statutory rights as a consumer that cannot be excluded; or (d) any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by applicable law.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Alderframe will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, data, content or savings — including, without limitation, loss arising from a RouteSky journey insight, weather forecast, Journey Score, Live Activity, widget, or any other planning information;
- Alderframe's total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with RouteSky and these RouteSky Terms in any 12-month period will not exceed the greater of (i) the total fees paid by you to us (not to Apple) for RouteSky in that period; or (ii) one hundred pounds sterling (£100).
12. Termination & governing law
We may suspend, restrict or terminate your access to RouteSky with or without notice if (a) you breach these RouteSky Terms; (b) we are required to do so by law or by a regulatory or judicial authority; (c) continued access would create a risk of harm; or (d) we discontinue RouteSky. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 1, 6, 10, 11 and 13) survive termination.
These RouteSky Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere you retain the benefit of any mandatory provisions of your local law and the right to bring proceedings in your country of habitual residence.
13. Apple App Store — additional terms
The following terms apply when you obtain RouteSky through the Apple App Store. In any conflict between the preceding terms and this Section 13 in respect of RouteSky, this Section 13 prevails to the extent of the conflict.
- Acknowledgement. These RouteSky Terms are concluded between you and Alderframe only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for RouteSky or its content. To the extent these Terms provide usage rules for RouteSky that are less restrictive than, or conflict with, the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, the more restrictive or conflicting Apple term applies.
- Scope of Licence. The licence granted to you for RouteSky is a limited, non-transferable licence to use RouteSky on Apple-branded products that you own or control, and as permitted by the Usage Rules, except that RouteSky may be accessed, acquired and used by other accounts associated with the purchaser via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
- Maintenance and Support. Alderframe is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for RouteSky. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services.
- Warranty. Alderframe is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event of any failure of RouteSky to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of RouteSky (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to RouteSky, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be the sole responsibility of Alderframe.
- Product Claims. Alderframe, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to RouteSky or your possession and/or use of RouteSky, including (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that RouteSky fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
- Intellectual Property Rights. In the event of any third-party claim that RouteSky or your possession and use of RouteSky infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Alderframe, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.
- Legal Compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Developer Name and Address. Any questions, complaints or claims with respect to RouteSky should be directed to Alderframe Ltd, United Kingdom, email: [email protected].
- Third-Party Terms of Agreement. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using RouteSky.
- Third-Party Beneficiary. You and Alderframe acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these RouteSky Terms, and that, upon your acceptance of these RouteSky Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these RouteSky Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
If you do not agree to a separate EULA with Alderframe for RouteSky, the Apple Standard EULA applies as the agreement between you and Alderframe in respect of your licensed use of RouteSky, except that these RouteSky Terms shall prevail over the Apple Standard EULA to the extent permitted.
14. Changes & contact
We may update these RouteSky Terms from time to time. The "Effective" and "Last updated" dates above show when they were last revised. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you in advance.
