What it does
Most weather-route apps hand you a forecast, then send you to a different app to drive. RouteSky does both — route weather, an explained Journey Score, the best time to leave, and real turn-by-turn guidance on iPhone, CarPlay and Apple Watch.
A weather corridor along every route from Apple Weather, matched to when you’ll reach each stretch — rain onset, fog and when it clears, snow, ice risk and low-sun glare. Next-hour rain where Apple Weather provides it, and official weather warnings on your route with the issuing agency named.
A forecast is labelled as a forecast, with the time it was fetched. If the signal drops, your last forecast is kept for up to six hours. Driver modes, Pro and on-device answers say exactly what they do.
Every route gets one number and shows what drove it. Compare routes side by side on time and conditions — and with RouteSky Pro, set your own weights.
Sometimes the answer is a different hour, not a different road. Score departures across the next three hours and find the calmest, set a leave-time reminder, and get an optional nudge to pre-warm or pre-cool the car.
Turn-by-turn with 3D guidance, spoken directions and automatic rerouting. Speed limits where OpenStreetMap maps them, lane guidance at supported junctions, and speed enforcement alerts on your route where permitted and supported. On CarPlay, the forecast is painted on the route.
Avoid motorways and tolls wherever Apple Maps has another way, or prefer fewer tight bends, narrow roads and complex junctions — RouteSky picks the Apple Maps route that suits you and shows the time it costs. One setting for iPhone, CarPlay and Apple Watch.
Smart Stops on the road ahead — fuel, EV charging, cafés or toilets where Apple Maps lists them — ranked by what each adds to your drive. UK petrol and diesel prices, cheapest nearby, each with its age. Car parks near you and your destination.
Pick a departure and count down to it on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, on Apple Watch and on the CarPlay Dashboard. It ends itself the moment you start driving.
Ask about the drive — “Will I hit rain?”, “When’s the calmest time to leave?” — and get an answer worked out on your iPhone from this route’s own forecast. Needs an iPhone with Apple Intelligence.
Long-haul, coach, motorcycle and RV modes add rest-break reminders; long-haul, coach and RV modes show your vehicle’s speed limits where mapped. Emergency mode simplifies the drive screen and lists routes with less severe weather first. No mode routes by vehicle size or weight.
On Apple Watch: the next turn, the weather ahead, your Journey Score and complications. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets and Live Activities watch your saved commute. Ask Siri to “Check my RouteSky commute”, or to find a stop on your route.
Traffic incidents on the road ahead — reported collisions, closures and roadworks, where available — with each alert naming its source. Community hazard reports are optional and off by default: shared without names or profiles, open to flagging, and gone once they expire. Report only when it’s safe: stopped, as a passenger, or hands-free. How this data is handled.

No account. No ads. No advertising or cross-app tracking, and no personal data sold. Location is used to plan and follow your drive, Ask RouteSky answers on your device, and Community Reports stay off unless you switch them on — and show no name or profile if you do.
