SaySpace Safety & Moderation.
How SaySpace approaches safety, moderation, and account health. Effective: 1 June 2026 · Draft.
SaySpace is being built so that safety and fairness can sit alongside healthy discovery. This page summarises how we approach reporting, moderation, appeals, account health, and reach limitations.
1. Report content
You will be able to report content and accounts in-app once SaySpace is live. While SaySpace is in development, please email [email protected] with the subject SaySpace Report. Include a link or screenshot, what is wrong, and any context that helps us understand the issue.
2. Block and mute
SaySpace is being designed with first-class blocking and muting controls so that you can shape who you see and who can see you, without explaining yourself.
3. Moderation review
Reports are reviewed against our SaySpace Community Guidelines and SaySpace Terms. We aim to combine human review with automated systems so that reviews are timely without becoming opaque.
4. Appeals
If a moderation action is taken on your account or your content and you believe it is wrong, you will be able to appeal. We aim to explain the decision and the appeals route, not to leave you in the dark. While in development, appeals are handled by email at [email protected].
5. Account Health
SaySpace will surface a clear Account Health view, showing trust signals, any reach limitations currently applied to your account, and guidance to improve. Account Health is designed so that you understand where you stand — not to punish silently.
6. Reach limitations, explained
If your reach is being limited (for example, due to repeated guideline violations, spam-like behaviour, or new-account safety checks), this will be shown in Account Health alongside an explanation and any required next step. Reach limitations are intended to be:
- Explained. Why this is happening and how long it lasts.
- Bounded. Time-limited where appropriate.
- Appealable. There is a way to challenge a decision you disagree with.
7. No silent shadowbans
SaySpace is being built on the principle that limitations on reach should be visible to the user affected. We do not intend to use silent shadowbans as a moderation tool. (TODO: confirm and document any narrow exceptions before launch, for example for ongoing investigations into severe abuse where notice would jeopardise other users’ safety.)
8. Safety-first discovery
Discovery surfaces and Fresh Voices are designed to support new and under-seen creators without overriding safety. Content that violates the Community Guidelines will not be eligible for amplification through discovery.
9. Anti-spam and anti-bot protection
SaySpace will use a combination of behavioural signals, rate limits, and risk-based checks to protect against spam, bots, scams, and coordinated manipulation, without silently punishing genuine users. Where automated systems take an action that affects your account, the action will be visible in Account Health.
10. Law enforcement and emergencies
SaySpace cooperates with lawful, properly-authorised requests from law enforcement under applicable law and our internal processes. In an emergency involving an imminent threat to life, please contact your local emergency services first.
