SaySpace Privacy Policy.
Last updated: 10 June 2026.
Operated by: Alderframe LTD, London, United Kingdom. Contact: [email protected].
Our approach
SaySpace is built to be privacy-first. We collect only what we need to run the service, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, we do not sell your personal information, and we show no third-party advertising. There are no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the app, and we do not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA).
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and the display name, handle, bio, and avatar you choose.
- Content you create: posts, replies, topics, direct messages, and any photos or voice notes you attach.
- Social and usage signals: follows, saves, reposts, read events, and in-app interaction events used to operate features and the discovery feed.
- Safety signals: blocks, mutes, hides, reports, and consent records.
- Device token: a push notification token (used only to deliver notifications you've enabled).
- Diagnostics: sanitised performance and crash signals — safe codes only; we strip content and personal identifiers.
We do not collect precise or coarse location, your contacts, calendar, health data, browsing history from other apps, advertising identifiers, or device fingerprints.
On-device only (never sent to us)
Composer drafts, your local message/search index, media caches, and your sign-in token are stored only on your device.
How we use information
To provide and secure your account; to display and deliver your content; to power discovery and personalisation of your feed based on your interests and activity; to keep the community safe (moderation, reporting, blocking); to send notifications you enable; and to diagnose and fix problems.
How we share information
- With other users: content you post is shared according to its visibility and the people you interact with.
- With service providers: our backend infrastructure provider (Supabase) and Apple's push notification service, acting on our instructions.
- For legal/safety reasons: where required by law or to protect users.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Your choices and rights
- Access / export: request a copy of your data in the app (Settings → Data Export).
- Deletion: permanently delete your account and associated data in the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account). See Account Deletion.
- Permissions: control microphone, notifications, and photo access in iOS Settings; the in-app Privacy & Permissions Center explains each.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection). Contact us using the address above.
App Store "App Privacy" declaration
We declare the following 11 data types as collected: Name, Email Address, Photos or Videos, Audio Data, Other User Content, User ID, Device ID, Product Interaction, Crash Data, Performance Data, and Other Diagnostic Data. All are linked to the user's identity, and none are used to track across other companies' apps or websites.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active and delete it on account deletion, except where retention is required for legal, security, or safety reasons. Diagnostics are retained for a limited period and then purged.
Children
SaySpace is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.
Changes
We'll post changes here and update the "Last updated" date.
