SaySpace Account Deletion.
How to delete your SaySpace account, what is removed, and what may be retained for limited legal or safety reasons.
1. Delete in-app (when available)
Once SaySpace is live, you will be able to delete your account from within the App. The expected route is: Settings → Account → Delete Account. Final wording in-app will be confirmed at launch.
2. Delete by email
While SaySpace is in development, and as a backup once it is live, you can request account deletion by emailing [email protected] with the subject SaySpace Account Deletion. To help us verify the request, please send the email from the email address associated with your account (if any).
3. What is deleted
When you delete your account:
- Your account profile (username, display name, bio, avatar, links);
- Posts, comments, and other content you have published to SaySpace from your account;
- Your follows, followers, mutes, blocks, and similar account-level settings;
- Notification preferences associated with your account.
4. What may be retained temporarily
For legal, safety, security or operational reasons, certain limited information may be retained for a reasonable period after deletion. This may include:
- Records needed to comply with legal obligations (for example, tax records of any purchases) for as long as required by applicable law;
- Limited safety records (for example, records of past Community Guidelines violations) to protect SaySpace and its users from repeat abuse;
- Routine system back-ups and logs, retained for a short period and then overwritten;
- Content that other users have re-shared or saved, where it remains on their accounts in line with our Terms.
The specific retention periods will be confirmed and documented before SaySpace launches publicly.
5. Data export
Where applicable law gives you a right to request a copy of your personal data, you can email us at [email protected]. The format and scope of any data-export feature will be finalised before launch.
6. Processing timeframe
We aim to action confirmed deletion requests promptly. A short period may be required for processing, including for technical removal from back-ups in line with our retention schedule. (TODO: confirm specific processing windows before launch.)
7. Reactivation
Once an account is deleted, it cannot generally be reactivated. If you change your mind shortly after deletion, please contact us as quickly as possible.
